Pros

Only positive things I can say are having company car and benefits (healthcare is really good). Nothing else positive can be said about the company

Cons

MICRO-MANAGED is an understatement, don’t give you time as an Industrial Representative to get a solid sales cycle going (typically takes one year and a half to get an idea of what an account has to offer in terms of margin and sales) however, within six months of taking this job I had 3 people breathing down my neck for low MRO numbers, I had people grabbing a picture I took at the gym (in the late afternoon) off the internet and bringing it to Management telling them that I was working out instead of out selling (this occurred after this particular person and her coherts found out how I had negotiated my salary way above hers and her counterparts. There are not enough words on this keyboard to display how disgusted I am in this branch. If you ever have the opportunity to work for Graybar (RUN away from the Norcross, GA branch)

Pros

Having Graybar on your résumé is valuable.

Cons

+ 40 years of bad decisions regarding the Detroit market by corporate and district management have done permanent damage. Customers no longer want to do business with Graybar because it's always a revolving door with outside & inside sales staff. Area/branch management is inconsistent as well: a good manager is always succeeded by a bad manager who screws everything up. Never two good area/ branch managers in a row.
