Pros

Subsiduary of Graybar Electric (USA) Employee owned Small company feel Graybar first entered the canadian market through the acquisition of two companies, Harris and Roome in Atlantic Canada and Ellis and Howard in Ontario. Harris and Roome continues to have leadership status in the electrical distribution market in the maritime provinces.

Cons

As a reletively recent entry into the Canadian electrical distributor market, Graybar tends to demonstrates a lack of focus as it tries to define its market approach. Graybar's employees and managers lack training and experience - even those with seveal years of service with the company or within the industry with other employers

Pros

HR is very helpful and professional. 50% of coworkers are great people. Rate of pay is better than most jobs in the area. Excellent benefits and incentives. Paid time off and benefits kick in immediately. Smoke breaks every 10 minutes if you're a smoker. Everyone tries to help out when needed (most of the time)

Cons

Health & Safety is not enforced or taken seriously, accidents waiting to happen. %50 of coworkers are rude, use offensive profanities and unprofessional. Hard work is not often recognized by upper management. Very unorganized warehouse, workload seems to pile up with no end in sight. Items that are left to receive after deliveries are sometimes left for a week before you have time to get to them. Understaffed, when somebody calls in sick or has a week off you're on your own! Expectations are not realistic. Not able to speak up about issues out of fear they will assume you can't do your job. Each branch is likely different from one to the other to work at.
