      Pros

      Most ethanol plants are located in small towns. The pay is good for the area.

      Cons

      In the years I worked for green plains they terminated several plant managers production managers and lead operators Due to this I was hesitant to move up ultimately. This influenced part of my decision to part ways with green plains as I felt I would be unable to retire from this company

      Pros

      Great people. Pay is ok if you don’t have a degree.

      Cons

      Work 12 hour shifts, every other weekend, most holidays. You get PTO, but you cover other peoples PTO. The only holidays you get off are if they happen land on your day off.

      Pros

      The people and work environment is great when morale is good.

      Cons

      Within operations turnover rate is high, pay is low compared to nearby competitors and businesses for that department as well. The plant is old and unplanned shut downs seem more frequent.
