Pros

Free cereal, and free orange juice every morning. Free birthday cake and ice cream once a month. Vending machine with snacks. Free crushed ice and soda fountain. Free pizza when overtime is required. People are nice. Floors are carpeted. Very pretty artwork and marble staircase.

Cons

Forget about vacations or outside activities as the attorneys will ask you to cancel your trip. Horrible coffee. No communication within departments. Last minute deadlines ALWAYS. Pre-planning doesn't exist. Attorneys hire non-qualified employees with no legal experience. If you do as I do and not as I say you'll get a raise but it will be 1 percent. Your raise and firm bonus are tied to the firm's collection drive and national PriceWaterhouseCoopers demographic survey. NOT your performance. Many attorneys think overtime is salary and you don't need a raise. Some shareholders look at how much overtime you made that year and your bonus is based on that. Associates are overworked and there's no mentoring. There are 10 year associates...when they should be Of Counsel. Matt Gorson isn't the CEO--Richard Rosenbaum and Brian Duffy are Co-CEO. Shareholders bill 1800 hours. Paralegals bill 1600 hours.

Pros

Great vacation/sick/personal time offered. Located in a nice area.

Cons

Expensive benefits, very small bonuses, minimal profit sharing. Salaries are low. Culture is cut-throat for work between associates and paralegals. Staff is treated poorly. Top heavy for salaries. Management stretches staff coverage to its limits without hiring extra help. Hard work is unacknowledged and unrewarded. Unprofessional atmosphere with lots of little clicks and clans. Management and attorneys talk about staff poorly and in front of others staff and attorneys. No advancement possibilities or movement possibilities between departments for staff.

Pros

The people are nice and willing to help when asked. The random cocktail hours are a nice bonus after a long week, as are the random free lunches.

Cons

The salaries and and raises tend to be on the low side.
