Pros

Greenhouse welcomes you with open arms, the best tools to do your job, and the best people to work with. Many companies can say they do this, but not many can have as many happy employees as Greenhouse does.

Cons

Truly cannot think of any cons about the company. Management is doing an incredible job even as the company grows quickly.

Pros

Amazing leadership, great product, and some of the smartest people I've ever had the privilege of working with. Every day provides new and exciting challenges, and the world of talent acquisition is fascinating. You're given trust and support from day one. New ideas are always welcome, the entire organization works across teams, there are no silos. Great culture and team dynamic -- I love coming to work each day, for the work itself, the people, and the overall mission of our product.

Cons

I can't think of many explicit cons. Long hours are really more of a choice than anything else -- folks work hard because they love what they're doing and the product/customers they support. There is incredible work/life balance as well, so I suppose I don't see it as much of a con. Greenhouse is in hyper-growth and growing fast, so there are some general growing pains. It's nothing major, and frankly I find it super exciting to watch the team grow!

Thanks a ton for the positive comments, really awesome to hear that you've had such a positive experience. I hear you on the hyper-growth. It's quite exciting to go through but yes, it comes with its own set of unique and fun challenges (bathroom lines! the fridge running out of cold cuts!) but we'll soldier on. If you do come across ways we could improve or just ever have questions about your career, the work, etc. don't be shy - just grab me or one of the People team. More than happy to talk things over! - Daniel

Pros

- Amazing, AMAZING team members - Good office location. Hopefully new office is just as good - Killer product/dev/engineering team that always delivers - Selling the best recruiting software in the space. Makes it nice to know that you are on the "A" team and makes you very passionate about the product you are getting behind. You can definitely feel that passion with your colleagues as well - Catered lunch on Mondays (should be a bit more cognizant of dietary restrictions though) - Stocked fridge and snack bar (healthier snacks please) - Lots of career opportunity to move up at a fast growing company

Cons

- Management is young and/or can sometimes lack experience due to fast promotion/career ladders Would be nice to see some sort of a performance review so they can continuously grow, learn, and improve where needed - Perks... Could up this a bit. Ex: Witnessing a lot of employees work late hours -- would be nice to get dinner deliveries on occasions - Cleanliness. As the company grows super quickly - things tend to get messier, dishes get left around, and people don't clean up for themselves. Would be nice to see some sort of a process or mutual agreement get put into place so our office mom doesn't have to do everything! - Can't find a conference room if your life depends on it. Even if you book one in advance, prepare to have it hijacked. New office and maybe some better rules around being respectful of reservations *should* hopefully fix this - Scheduled team outings would be nice once in a while to bond with team members outside of work - Communication. Feel like this could definitely be a bit better and others have mentioned this as well. Departments that work together a lot don't meet quite enough and/or team leads/managers will often times have different information. Very problematic at scale

Great suggestions! 1000% on "don't lose the culture/happiness and what makes us great" as we scale. As the CEO it's literally my #1 objective. You're pointing out a great list of initiatives and areas for improvement; many of these are already on mine and the People team's radar - but a few weren't. It's super helpful to see what things matter most and what you care about. So thanks for the feedback, hopefully you should see much of this reflected in our actions this year. If you want to chat more about this I'm *always* interested, come by my desk / slack me / etc. - let's chat!
