Pros

My peers and team members are all fantastic, and I genuinely love what I do. I’m passionate about helping my teams grow and learn, guiding them to achieve their goals. I also take pride in partnering with my clients to build strong relationships and ensure their assets perform at their best.

Cons

I’m reviewing here to express my deep frustration and concern after having spent 8 years with Greystar, during which time I have been an enthusiastic advocate for the company. I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d question my loyalty, but the past year has significantly changed my perspective. It’s become increasingly apparent that the top leadership is out of touch with the operational side of the business. The issues arising from rollouts over the last 12 months, such as Dayforce, the Resident Experience App/Bilt, and most recently the Fee Transparency rollout, have been not just inconvenient but increasingly damaging. What has been most concerning is the decision to push these initiatives forward with minimal direction and low to no support. The Dayforce integration, for example, pushed payroll monitoring onto RPMs, created more chaos for accounting(which has consistently struggled for years). The Resident Experience App/Bilt made it nearly impossible for residents to make payments online, and due to poor implementation left team members powerless to assist them, creating incredible frustration for the residents we serve. While the concept of fee transparency is necessary, the rollout process has been confusing, poorly executed, and frustrating, with the initial phase beginning during budget season. The absence of leadership and the "business side" of Greystar during critical calls demonstrates a lack of strategic foresight. The imposition of tedious data entry tasks put on RPMs, who should be focused on leadership and client partnerships, is an incredibly shortsighted decision that is having a negative impact across the board. At this point, I find myself questioning my loyalty to a company that seems to be heading in the opposite direction of the values that initially attracted me here. I am deeply disappointed and unsure of where this is headed. I genuinely believed Greystar was a company I would stay with long-term, but these recent developments have left me disillusioned.

Pros

Building Strong Communities Greystar truly values connections, encouraging growth and collaboration not just within the team but across all of its communities. Opportunities to Grow Your Skills They offer a variety of classes and resources to help you learn, grow, and sharpen your professional skills—no matter where you are in your career. Leadership Training If you’ve ever thought about stepping into a leadership role, Greystar has your back with training programs designed to help you shine. They Care About You Greystar genuinely supports its employees, offering financial assistance and tools to make life a little easier when you need it most. Amazing Benefits The benefits package is top-notch, and the rent discount? Easily the best I’ve seen in this industry—it really shows how much they value their team. Working here isn’t just about the job; it’s about being part of a company that invests in you and your future.

Cons

Inconsistency Across Communities Depending on the community and ownership, Greystar's core values can sometimes take a backseat, creating challenges in maintaining a consistent culture. Ownership Influence Some ownership groups may overshadow Greystar’s standards, leading to differences in expectations and operational priorities. Potentially Difficult Work Environment When ownership priorities don’t align with Greystar's values, it can create a tough environment for employees trying to uphold the company's mission and standards. While Greystar sets high expectations and strives for excellence, these challenges can impact the overall employee experience, depending on the specific community you’re part of.

Pros

It's a massive company so you have many options on where you want to be

Cons

They don't really take care of employees like they say they value and the pay is not worth all the bull crap. I shouldn't feel like I can't afford to work somewhere.
