Pros

Decent benefits, good salary, free food

Cons

Unfortunately Guardant has really gone downhill since becoming a publicly traded company. The pressures seem to be mounting. Management that used to be supportive and excited now seem to want to rule by fear and intimidation. People are leaving in droves and many who haven't are planning their exit strategy. The culture went from curing cancer and helping patients to how much money can they make. Employees are not valued.

Pros

most of the staffs are friendly and with good teamwork spirit

Cons

The top management is micromanaging and does not listen to new ideas. Only one top person would make decision based on his liking.

Truly the worst company (I hope to) ever work for.

Pros

Many decent peers. Lunch 5X a week. Doordash on Fridays.

Cons

Objectively, this is the worst company I've ever worked for. The issues largely stem from the leadership. It feels like no one knows what’s going on, and deadlines are habitually and constantly missed or pushed forward. I’ve worked at other start-ups before, but these issues seem exclusive to GH. The company has abysmal leadership and is unable to scale. C-Levels/Senior Management – Appear uncaring, uncharismatic, and don’t communicate or set realistic deadlines. All-hands are irregular and hastily thrown together, and questions aren’t asked/answered. I have no real sense of company direction or values. My largest gripe is that they repeat these vague values (move fast! embrace change!), but make no effort to actually embody them or even see if they're still relevant. A company's values can and should grow with the company. HR – No company culture or effort to establish one. Few company events, department events, or team events. New hires aren’t welcomed (no lunch or intro to company). Benefits are not on par with industry, and there’s no effort to keep them competitive. No people management system. Performance reviews are a joke (all up to manager’s discretion). I’ve learned that a tell-tale sign about whether a company has a healthy workplace culture is their parental leave policy (dad's get almost no time off here) and the presence of diversity/inclusion groups (of course, none exist). This is a red flag! IT – They’re working on it, but the internet drops every other second. You can submit a ticket and not hear back for months. Unable to scale with the company. Middle Managers/Directors – Trash and inept. Set no short-term, mid-term, or long-tern goals. Thankfully, HR is incorporating a manager feedback survey (sometime in the distant future...) I'd be embarrassed to be a manager here. Technology/Assay – WEAK and non-innovative. This company will be steam-rolled in a couple of years.
