Pros

typical benefits package, health insurance and all, 401k partial match. work life balance is good as they have no idea what employees are actually doing (how well performing) on subcontracts.

Cons

- they failed to apply salary raise - so I ended up being paid like 10K short for the year. Salary in ADP showed one number, and I was paid lower. Check what they pay you each period! - takes forever to hear anything from manager, even when you should get prompt response by their own rule book. Sometimes you emails to manager are just lost or ignored. - yearly review is a joke. they have no idea how their employees are progressing or not. neither do they care. - they generally care very little about the employee satisfaction, as long as you're not leaving for another job - DTO means that they can reject your vacation when they feel like it. no consistency across employee base - promotion opportunities limited to the positions at the some other subcontract which is probably even worse than your current subcontract. so bad they can't find anybody outside to fill that position. - managers are overworked - bureaucracy level too high

Not the best

Pros

Initial Pay. Hybrid position. That's it.

Cons

Pay raise? Depends on how much work you do for GH, not on the actual contract. This is not like most government consulting jobs. They want you to work 40hrs for GH clients. Most likely it will be more because the contract is terrible. But after that, plan to work for GH, ie write proposals or volunteer to work on some other project. Unlimited PTO? Nope. Unless you work way over your 40hrs, it will count against your utilization. Oh that counts against your bonus as well. -PMs will NOT advocate for you. If you have valid concerns about being burnt out or having terrible management, they will turn a blind eye. Even add more work to your plate to keep the client "happy." High turnover rate. You would think if one team has gone through several employees in less than a year, they would investigate, perform and take exit interviews seriously. They do not. Management could be the root cause, they don't care and will keep the problematic person. Oh and if you enjoy the team/project you were working on and doing great work, they will move you to a different team because it's falling apart and they want you to lose your mind trying to save it.

Avoid at ALL Costs

Pros

If you can make it out alive, the old adage holds true: what doesn’t absolutely murder you makes you better prepared for the next toxic workplace environment.

Cons

Toxic culture, unclear promotion framework, massively lacking benefits (when compared to competitors), absent leadership (particularly during civil/social/economic/cultural crises), limited range of work opportunities (all finance, no mission), and horrible internal services/infrastructure.
