Pros

Job security, there are multiple projects you can be moved to to gain more experience.

Cons

Pay is low, office politics, promotions are not merit based, benefits and PTO are mediocre, can be forced to work multiple extra hours for no extra pay, some clients can set unreasonable expectations in order to demand you to work more hours (the company get paid more, but not you), bonus doesn’t really cover all the extra hours you put in.

Cons

Big company (public sector) controls, late-stage private equity ownership with possibility of ownership change, lagging pay structure, harder to get things done as firm gets larger.
