Pros

Compensation is somewhat comparable to other government contracting firms.

Cons

Lot of unnecessary administrative issues to address after work hours. Sometimes required to write business proposals after hours even if it is not part of your position responsibilities.

Pros

• The company has an abundance of opportunity available allowing those who are presently employed to be promoted even quicker. • The salary and benefits are competitive with other consulting firms. • The PwC split helps Guidehouse be more independent and pursue business in an unlimited area. • There are a diverse group of professional people who have knowledge in all areas that add value to the various engagements. • Micromanagement is low considering my previous career with a former company which demonstrates Guidehouse has confidence in their associates to get the job done and satisfy the client.

Cons

• The IT infrastructure is cloud based and is very slow causing associates to be frustrated when deliverables are due. Most of the time is spent waiting on the cloud to operate. It continues spins and crashes. My biggest frustration of all considerations… • Although it is wonderful that Guidehouse is growing exponentially with staff, it is frustrating that the space we have available is limited and more people continue to join causing issues when government offices are closed and everyone has to pack in the Guidehouse office location. No seating available. • Communication seems to be an issue when it comes to your role and responsibility. You are pretty much left to figure things out for yourself. • The hiring process for referrals appears to take a long time. I referred someone who had to continuously reach out to the recruiter for updates. The recruiter was not responsive the majority of the time and still there is no solid answer.

Pros

- Flexibility (hours, work location, communication format) depending on project team - Opportunity for exposure to high-impact, mission-focused projects if aligned with right team/management - Opportunity to get actively involved in business development at early phase in career (whitepapers, proposals)

Cons

- Business appears to operate w/ same mentality of PwC brand, but with a Guidehouse brand that has no brand equity - Milestone rewards for Senior, Manager promotions were effectively removed - Compensation for existing employees materially disparate from market value - Disconnect between what senior mgmt. discusses during all-hands meetings vs. reality of the business - No campus recruiting presence, heavy reliance on headhunter orgs and referrals - Brand new / buggy IT systems create burden when delivering on client work - Unclear communication of Guidehouse business processes that changed as a result of spin-out - Aptitude of new hires is below that of talent recruited w/ PwC - No performance review system -- we create career goals for the year, but no mechanisms implemented to enable period or real-time feedback of my actual day-to-day work - No in-house trainings available - New initiatives at the firm show promise, but everyone is overwhelmed with oversubscription to client work - Folks who were with PwC and endured the transition --- many are leaving
