Pros

Very minimal - salary is good match.

Cons

extremely non-diverse environment, high turnover, day to day of job does not match up with what is discussed during interview, favoritism is huge, no real skills needed (a lot is based on luck), frat like culture and if you do not abide to this you are left out. Work life balance is also tough, you are expected to work overtime.

Pros

I like the people I worked with. Most started with a positive attitude and are smart and fun. I learned about the differences between the different types of investment firms, which was all new for me.

Cons

I haven't had many jobs, so it was hard to compare Guidepoint or know if it's like every other company until I left. I've started working at another small company now and I can see the differences. It was a very sour place. We were treated like factory workers, even though we had people from good schools. The CEO walks around to see who was at their desks. We received emails before snowstorms and hurricanes telling us we had to come to the office no matter what. Like it was ok if we got hit by a car or something. By the time I left almost all of the people I knew when I started didn't work there anymore. And when I was there, everyone I knew was looking for a job. It was like being a senior in college again, with 3 classes having graduated in front of us and most students being freshmen, sophomores and juniors. And everyone still there looking for a job.

Pros

You get somewhat ok compensation as a livable wage, but not all employees are afforded that and they are not competitive at all with wages. You get also good benefits but compared to most great companies, the benefits are not that great.

Cons

One of the top technical leaders is a hardliner. He doesn't care if you are new to the organization often time puts you on blast for things you or your team do not have control over. He's an over all control-frk and he doesn't like if people get or stand in in his way on decisions. There is no real team autonomy here, you will be languished with nightmare scenarios where you support legacy software and sites that have many performance and vulnerabilities. Ultimately this place is very cruddy, and they even terminated me after I took 2 days PTO for illness. I would definitely, based on my opinion of several facts that occurred would not recommend anyone to go work for this company. Believe the other reviews on here because its much worse than I state.
