Not a place for success

Pros

Good location in NYC. Free beer on Fridays. Easy work. Not many other Pros besides that. It is a strange place.

Cons

Guidepoint is extremely low paying. Most people who work there are extremely young and right out of college. It has a frat style vibe to it. There is no organization to the work. Managers are rude. They think by giving you some beer and snacks that you will work for them for very little money. The back office functions are barely functioning (compliance, HR, Tech). Anything coming from them is extremely slow. I sugggest not working here or only in the interim until you find something that will become a career.

Stay Away If You Can

Pros

Made some great friends but only at the associate level since we can all relate suffering through the same thing Remote until 2022

Cons

I don't even know where to begin. The job itself is monotonous and boring. It requires zero skills whatsoever and your performance will hardly reflect how hard you work because it is based purely on luck. You will not pick up any useful, transferable skills either unless you want to go into recruiting (maybe). Job itself aside, there is a lot of favoritism at the company and some pretty covert racism/discrimination. Management will pretend to listen to your concerns and will pretend to care about asking for feedback but nothing will change even if multiple people have voiced their opinions. The job is very numbers based and management will try to pit associates against each other, making for a competitive and selfish environment.

Terrible

Pros

None - Highly unregulated industry, where insider trading cases arise quite often, welcome to the "Expert Network" Space, where lying and backstabbing is promoted and encouraged.

Cons

Countless hours searching LinkedIn for a person with a perfect "description" then professionally stalking that individual until you get him/her on the phone, no skill accumulation, knowledge expansion or career development. When you walk out of here this will leave you with no benefit, corporations don't want someone who worked for an"expert network", the very type of company they have stated within their signing clause not to associate with. Management are all miserable because they are constantly under the gun by both their clients and the most absurd and socially awkward CEO known to man, which leaves them no time to lead/manage their teams. No structure and no room for growth. PLEASE stay away and wait for another gig to come along, Trust me.
