Pros

Very laid back job, not much work to do when the store was slow. You work with musicians and meet many cool customers

Cons

Not much training at all on products. Expected by customers to know the answers to all questions on so many products and guitar center provides no training

Pros

Enthusiastic coworkers and customers excited about music gear, a laid-back approach in most stores and throughout corporate. Employee discount is great, and generally store management will try to be accommodating of gigging schedules for performing musicians.

Cons

The pay is not great, and not worth the work you do, in every store position. Workload can be heavy, customer volume can be high, and we're chronically short-staffed because we don't pay well; and that's assuming the store is giving labor hours to schedule.
