Pros

The co-workers themselves were great, Pretty good discount. And occasionaly you'd have rewarding and fufilling interactions with customers, such as getting a kid his first instrument and what not.

Cons

You're encouraged to employ scummy sales tactics to push mostly bogus coverage plans and credit cards with insane intrest rates. Oh, and they tout the gear card as having 0% interest, however, this is deffered intrest. For all the non credit savvy folks, this means that if you go past the original no interest time period, EVEN BY A PENNY, you will then owe whatever interest you would've owed in that first period of no intrest, and it will be added onto your total. Oh and the interest after that time period (and during if its not paid for within the given time) is 30%. Also, the pay is obviosly garbage minimum wage ($15.69 here in CT) and you can only get commision if you hit your sales per hour goal which is $325/hr. Now that might not sound bad, But when you work in the evenings on the slowest days and you get maybe 2 or 3 customers per hour that are either just looking around or buying a pack or two of strings and picks, then its a different story. Now the issue here isn't just that you wont earn a commision if you dont hit this goal, but now they will WRITE YOU UP if you fail to hit this goal. which is what happened to me because I took 2 weeks off to go back to my homestate to take care of my widowed mother and apparently that all counts against you according to my manager. I've been in the workforce for about 9 years, including the military. I have never ONCE been written up or counseled about anything, as I always try my best and put my best effort into everything that I do. And this company makes you feel worthless for even trying. I always try to help customers to the best of my abilities and try to work withing any budget needs they might have. even if they express taht they are not looking to buy anything, I still give them my best efforts. Yet, the company activily punishes that type of customer service in favor for more sharky salesman tactics. Do everyone in the music world and your local economy a favor and shop locally if possible. Not this slimy, money-grubbing company.
