      At the time the commission structure was convoluted and not in the favor of those in sales. Trying to push items with higher margin versus selling customer the items best suited for them. Too focused on unreliable metrics and the coverage plans.

      Pros

      Guitar Center provides an exiting and vibrant work environment at the center of the musical community. GC is fast paced and presents daily opportunities to learn and grow. The store's have a friendly and approachable feel that is rare in today's job market.

      Cons

      The company has seemed to be in a constant state of flux for the last few years. Several CEOs and a significant alteration in ownership has made for a chaotic and unsettling experience for long term employees. It does not feel as if experience counts for much at this point.
