Pros

.Cool airplanes, competent and committed Engineers striving to do the right thing.

Cons

Greedy and stubborn management culture obsessed with schedule. Short sighted and authoritarian leadership. Biased, parochial and incestuous culture. Talk of diversity inclusion, best company to work for, but Club membership is required, and lasts as long as the only answer to orders is yes. Promotes sheep and sheep dog behavior masked with "coolness", pride and arrogance.

Pros

Decent pay for the area, but Savannah cost of living is cheap, so that's not saying much 401K match is decent

Cons

This company is going downhill, and fast. I've worked in aerospace engineering for 20 years, at three different OEMs. Gulfstream is far and away the worst place I've ever worked (in engineering, I cannot speak to the manufacturing side). In the last few years it has deteriorated rapidly. Promotions and raises are based on a good ol boy network, not how hard you work or how much you contribute to the organization. People with less experience and expertise are promoted ahead of those who are more qualified because they're part of "the club." Employee surveys for several years have shown low employee morale and significant issues with trusting management, so senior leadership has stopped giving surveys instead of working to solve the issues. The engineering organization is run based on fear and intimidation. There is no work/life balance - you're expected to work overtime for no pay. I've never worked so hard for so little appreciation. I've heard many coworkers who've been with the company 15+ years state that things have changed significantly since they first started working there, and not for the better. As soon as I find a job elsewhere, I'm leaving.
