Pros

Good money Paid Vacation and Personal time

Cons

Ive come to find the Money isnt worth it even with exemplary Employee performance reviews I chose to leave and take a pay cut as well. Imposible Timelines, Inept Management, Factions among departments, Interns chosen over Promotion from within, POOR Planing Squared!! Descretionary accountability when it comes to policy and protocol, Lots of "Traps" set for floor level employees making Morale non existant. Insurance is a joke , no job security.....Thats just off the top of my head....

Pros

Company takes care of employees with decent pay and time off from day one. Great products, and looks great on a resume.

Cons

The Westfield, MA service center is in need of a major overhaul. New employees are brought in with no training on very complex aircraft. Senior technicians will not train new employees, so new mechanics are forced to learn as they go with little data. No aircraft specific training is provided or any training on proper way to fill out paper work. The company let's the customer and the inspection department dictate how maintenance gets done rather than doing it how the manuals call for. Upper management only cares about how to prevent damage on aircraft and making sure they get the "your idea at work" quota. 90% of the problems at that facility could be solved with proper training and teaching better communication. Upper management is on the "good Ole boy" system where all the original employees are now managers and friends and refuse to make changes in an constant changing environment. Definitely not the Gulfstream service center I recommend working for. Go to Brunswick or Appleton

Stay Away - Sinking Ship

Pros

It was a great place to be under some of the best upper management in the business until a couple of years ago.

Cons

All hands meetings saying they will lay off 1000s weeks before Christmas and then they walked it back and said they weren't going to lay off more than a couple hundred. Then HR held panels to ask employees how they could undo the damage they did before Christmas and retain employees. A week later they hold All hands meetings saying they are going to offer 3600 voluntary separation - 1/3 of the workforce. So stay away. This ship is going down and has lost its way. Other problems include living in Savannah - extremely high violent crime - extremely bad schools - and forget your spouse/partner ever being able to get gainful employment if they are a professional also. Don't bank on 2 salaries and if you were used to that, you are in for a lot of pain. Even worse, if you buy property, you are stuck in a stagnant housing market where you may not ever sell your house if you want to leave. You may never be able to buy a house again. Racism, misogyny, xenophobia and bigotry are all alive and well in Savannah and outsider are not welcomed. You might do well at the office, but think of your wife and kids if you have a family.
