Pros
Important to note that I left the business BEFORE first redundancies were announced by my own decision beginning of 2022. I can not give any insights into current Gymshark culture. OFFICE Simply beautiful and functional, I was employed when the first HQ opened it’s doors in 2018 (one of the first 150) and still can’t get over that hype we all felt when we went through those doors. REFUEL I’ve had some of the best foods here and selection was always great. DIVERSITY As a person of colour, I was very proud to be working in a very diverse team with a POC leader. Even though this was the case for my team, it wasn’t so much in other departments. HR HR was always very supportive, as well as my team lead. It never felt like you are talking to a business but an empathetic person. I always felt supported. WFH I have never had to go back into the offices as I left early 2022, but I enjoyed both working full time in the office before Covid as well as WFH. WFH was actually very well organised, considering it was new to everyone. VIBE We all had the same goal - to make everyone love Gymshark as much as we do, no matter what your background, circumstances etc. - so we were all buzzing. Especially as we could see the company giving back to its employees with every milestone hit. STAFF DISCOUNT Staff discount was great, as well as the AMAZING sample sales. BENEFITS Great maternity/paternity package, no excess private healthcare, discounted lunch, newest tech equipment, birthdays off, great pension scheme, gym, lots of training sessions, company parties. PEOPLE Made friends for life. This is solely based on my experience, I can not speak for all thousand employees, nor for anything after early 2022.
Cons
PAY The pay was below industry standard for early employees, but new hires got better packages (obvs) so there were big differences within teams. PROMOTIONS Difficult in some teams, very easy in other, less popular departments. GENDER Lacking empowering, female leaders.
