Pros

They offer flexible hours and tuition reimbursement. It's a great place for Students to work while in school because the managers are very flexible with allowing time off for school events and the pay is excellent compared to other retail stores. Cashiers start out as $8.00 p/hr and you are given a min. of 25 cent raises.

Cons

Not a place to make a career because you are required to work any hours and long days. If you are salaried, the long hours may not be worth the pay and stress of dealing with the retail environment. If you are hourly, you are NOT allowed to work overtime, no matter what, which is a downside if you need more money then you are making.

Pros

It was a fun first job. I was able to transfer between departments until I found something I enjoyed and became very good at. The hours were flexible enough to allow me to go to school during the same time and the benefits are great. There are locations everywhere, and transferring between stores is 'claimed' to be fairly easy enough. They have great training programs and provide lots of useful help when you are training on the job. There is pretty much a department for everyone, from stocking/labor, to cashiers, to business centers and photo labs. They are not going anywhere anytime soon, and are fairly lenient with who they will hire.

Cons

There is practically no advancement opportunities unless you start off with a degree in Business and walk the Management Path from the beginning. At times it may be hard to gain extra hours, and becoming a 'Full-Time' partner is hard - the actual reasons and path to obtain said status is cloudy at best, and promises to move/add/change hours can be delayed for months, if not years. The environment in a store is very dependent on the people working there, and that can be directly affected by those in charge. If the UD or SD (unit director or store director) is not doing their job successfully, it will carry down through the 'Partners' and affect the customer's experience.
