Pros

This company is well organized and diversified towards all cultures. The starting pay can good, depending on your experiences and work ethic. The organization's management structure and treatment of associates can be rewarding, depending on the success rate of the department, and the character of individual managers employed.

Cons

1) The company has down-time after tax season in which you can be randomly sent home, which causes shortages in your pay. If you can afford the shortages, you will be fine. 2) During tax season, however, the organization can overwork you during periods of overflow. For example, I once worked 7 days straight from 9-9 with only, a 30min lunch each day--it was horrifying to bear, and extremely stressful. 3) MOST IMPORTANT: During my time with the company, certain managers in my department failed to accept responsibility for uncontrollable variables, in which they pushed those failures off on the associate. For example, if irate customers were unsatisfied with the organization, in general, the irate customers would provide negative ratings on the associate's satisfactory survey. Management would then count this against the associate as it being their fault, which in turn, lowers the associate's performance rating. This isn't fair, especially knowing that irate customers had an issue with the company itself--not an issue with the associate's ability to assist, be understanding and courteous. This was very common for irate customers who were transferred through multiple department before they received correct assistance on a wrong tax return, late tax refund, or faulty TaxCut software with programing bugs.

Pros

- Decent hourly pay ($14.50/hour in Tax Season 2011) including 1.5x pay overtime - If you have a decent technical aptitude for computers and don't mind some pay for the first half of the year, this job can fill that role.

Cons

- Overtime is mandatory (50-60 hours) and can be inconvenient if one is expecting a 40 hour week. (However, you are warned of this from the get-go.) - Work hours can unexpectedly fluctuate depending upon caller demand. - If your performance isn't up to par, expect to be cut after the initial 4-6 weeks of the main tax season.
