Pros

HDR is a top 10 engineering company. It is well run, profitable corporation, with excellent compensation and benefits packages. Core values of the leadership are ethical and professional. The company is employee-owned resulting in a strong work ethic and shared rewards.

Cons

The company weathered the recession, managing to the bottom-line by eliminating approximately ten-percent of its work-force. This wass done in multiple lay-offs and position eliminations, particularly for older, senior employees that were not fully billable, in areas where the recession hit the hardest . The positive spin put on this was that it created opportunities for younger, middle managers to move up and help with succession plan implementation.

Pros

Huge corporate bureaucracy. Never forget the world was created in Omaha. That is where GOD lives..

Cons

Do not think Career. You are fodder, and management has no problem eliminating you or anyone else at any time, no matter how ling you have been a loyal over worked employee. . And they do it in a cowards way. This is a "Right to Work" Company. This is NOT a place to plan a long life plan.

Pros

The people are great to work with and the projects are very interesting. Staff is extremely competent and knowledgable.

Cons

instability with leadership - Senior management sometimes can't see the forest for the trees; trying to fix problems where there aren't any and missing problems where there are. "Bottom-line" is the most important factor.
