1. Good company that cares about employees well being and pay. Good yearly increases. 2. Truly employee owned with ability to purchase shares that have been steadily increasing in value. 3. Known as the industry leader in water (my field) and offers rewarding projects. 4. Fairly good work-life balance with a lot of supporting staff to technical professionals. 5. Transparent with vision, strategies, financials and growth prospects. 6. Flexibility in work timings and ability to work from home. 7. Top of the industry pay standards.

Cons

1. Growing fast and having some organizational and people management issues. 2. Too many senior staff with not enough time to guide younger engineers sufficiently.

Employee ownership really shows through in the company culture. Have freedom to explore your passion in the types of projects you work on.

Cons

Have to be really driven in order to fully take advantage of the entrepreneurial environment. If you are driven and self motivated the doors are open at HDR to become a leader and be in charge of your career path. However, some people become bogged down and get burned out.
