Pros

The employee ownership model sets HDR apart from other companies. Being able to invest in the company you work for, and know your coworkers are doing the same, really brings people to work with a different mindset.

Cons

The same cons that come with any large company, but the pros far outweigh the cons.

Not a great experience

Pros

Office location and fellow colleagues. If you enjoy working on defence and healthcare projects this is for you, large scale projects you can sink your teeth in. Flexible working model makes it easy to work from home and have flexible hours in the office.

Cons

Little work/life balance, long hours. Not much diversity in terms of project types. This isn’t necessarily a con if you want to specialise but it can be monotonous and repetitive work. I felt under valued, unappreciated and was mistreated. Melbourne office seems to take a back step to Sydney office where leadership is based.
