Pros

Freedom to Work Independently – HEICO offers significant autonomy, allowing employees to take ownership of projects and innovate without micromanagement. Great for self-starters who thrive with minimal oversight. Diverse & Interesting Work – Exposure to aerospace, defense, and engineering projects keeps the work engaging, especially for those passionate about aviation and technology. Strong Engineering Culture – Many teams are filled with talented, knowledgeable colleagues who are willing to collaborate and share expertise.

Cons

Unstable Management & Reorgs – Frequent leadership changes and restructuring create uncertainty. Priorities shift abruptly, making long-term planning difficult. Unguided Direction – While autonomy is a plus, the lack of clear strategic vision from upper management can leave teams scrambling to align on goals. Expect minimal top-down guidance. Inconsistent Communication – Decisions often feel reactive rather than planned, with little transparency on company-wide changes until they’re implemented.

Pros

The other employees are wonderful and hardworking for the most part. 401k plan is great and the bonus is good. Great christmas party. Really felt like i understood all aspects of the business as everyone at every level is willing to take the time to explain to you how elements of the business work even if it doesn't directly pertain to your job. The Materials Manager at IAS is the absolute best. Encouragement towards being yourself for the most part which is a nice plus.

Cons

Extremely hard to get a promotion if not impossible for most people. Toxic middle management - dealing with them feels like being in an abusive relationship. Clique-y atmosphere. Constant clock watching and lack of trust in employees. Hourly people expected that the salaried people would have to follow the same rules on breaks and lunches despite working pretty constantly outside of normal work hours. Complaints not taken seriously. Bad leave policies. Very little PTO. The things that get commented on by HR make no sense - constant comments on my wardrobe when someone else in the office is literally coming in in sweatpants. Comments on my nails being chipped all the time. Any time we tried to take steps towards becoming more efficient someone else came along and put a stop to it. Incredibly manual, archaic systems. Passive aggressive behavior towards employees that remain that are friends still with employees who have left the company. Their leave policy is horrible on both short term disability and bereavement.
