Pros

They have a lot of work and benefits are decent.

Cons

Management and supervisors treat employees very badly. Upper management is kind, tries to be transparent and continously improve but they don't realize that, to do so, they need to do an overhaul of most managers and supervisors. They care much more about their clients than their employees. They have plenty of lip-service but that's all it is. You can also see the women treated worse. They are held down compared to the men but much more is expected of them. Also, very little diversity. Supervisors are blatantly mean and disrespectful to their employees. Employees quit bosses not jobs, and the turnover rate is high.

Pros

Competitive salaries, high-profile government projects that look good on your resume

Cons

Poor client management. Every client request gets a "yes," no matter how thinly the team is spread. Rush turnarounds are the norm, and as a result, work quality suffers.

Pros

I accepted an office engineer position with HNTB. The pay was very good and staff were very approachable. The NYC office was great as well, though I was not stationed there.

Cons

Shortly after starting my position, I found out my position's job duties would not be what was in the job posting or discussed during the interview. When I brought this to my manager's attention, they denied the original job posting had different duties explained. After I showed them a printed copy of the original posting showing the different job duties, they then stated that HR made a mistake and posted the wrong description on their website. When I told them that we discussed these things during my interview, their response was "I don't recall". Once I realized we couldn't come to any agreement, I resigned the position.
