Pros
The only pro is the pay. They keep it slightly above the national average for retention. I did learn a lot of design from the hours they made me stare at a computer (after close of business). It was like being in a casino. Dark, hunched over the screen and waiting for something good to happen.
Cons
Poor management. Impossible expectations for work they promised to clients. Did not offer flexible/remote options. Did not like Office Chatter. Everyone is there for themselves. No "team building or collborating" allowed. The people that work here : they are new and don't know, they've been there the entire time/don't know any better or they drank the " fruit-punch " and became buddy-buddy with the white male managers. They give everyone a 10 commandments list for "leadership" and a 4x4 goals chant on a plaque to memorize. It's the aforementioned orange icecube fruit punch. Did not offer much for training or advancement unless you went "above and beyond" aka "no work life balance." At HNTB, work is your life which is very unrealistic for the next generations work force. I mostly hated the mandatory " free lunch " for the all hands meeting that you had to attended for an hour and then you would have to make up for lost time. Also, I am disappointed in the way they handled an on-the-job brutal stabbing of an employee who worked there for 20 years, they didn't even mention him on the anniversary of his death.
