Pros

Leader in international banking. Pay at market. Good start-up time-off. Exposure to global businesses.

Cons

Highly political work environment. US operations have little say and are disconnected from the mainstream of HSBC. US employees (except NYC) are not considered a real part of the HSBC fabric, therefore are not given fair treatments in many aspects, such as career growth, job consideration, benefits, etc. HSBC US is not a stable company to work for especially now amid major layoffs happening in majority of offices. Do not expect turnaround in five years. There will be trickling and endless staff reduction for days to come. Not a place that appreciate talent and hard work.
