- Company is so big that it is overly bureaucratic. Way too many people have to give their OK for projects to happen or changes to be made, no matter how small. - Departments are siloed and communication between teams and within teams is terrible. Departments compete against each other. - Talented, productive workers and SMEs are not given the opportunity to make decisions themselves even though they were hired for their knowledge and expertise. - People are micro-managed to death. - Tons of meetings. Meetings to talk about meetings. - Management has been a revolving door at the senior level, so no consistency. - Big culture of fear. Rounds of layoffs. VERY poor communication. - Middle-managers are plenty and fight for their territory, not their staff. In general leadership is lacking and incompetent. - Management also let toxic people thrive. A lot of dead wood abounds. - There has been a lot of emphasis on DE+I but it all seems performative and a lot of lip service.
