Pros

Great People. Hain-Celestial is the leader in the natural and organic food industry. Great company to work for, lots to learn and know.

Cons

This company is a great one to work for but very hard to get on permanently as a temp. Most employees are hired for 9 months out of the year, laid off for three and hired back again perpetually, but those are production workers. As a Customer Service Rep., I was informed that if I was there for a year they would either have to hire me or let me go. During my 11 and a half months at this job, 4 other temps had come and gone before they had been there 6 months. I was the only one left and hopeful. But, I was let go for no reason 2 days before my birthday. :-(

Pros

Generally good atmosphere. Some salaries are OK. Not many layers of management to deal with. Generally friendly atmosphere. OK about personal and health issues. You can talk to upper management if you push the issue. Again, small company atmosphere can be positive.

Cons

Static jobs no movement, not large company. Some of the decisions are erratic. Old systems, not willing to move forward. This was an issue before the economy tumbled. Too slow to get rid of problem divisions. Upper management is very well compensated but the lower level jobs are poorly paid. Small company atmosphere can be stifling as well as positive.

Pros

It provides a source of income.

Cons

Hain Celestial has become a toxic workplace. Unfortunately, the company's performance has suffered due to a significant influx of newcomers, primarily at the leadership level, displacing diligent and responsible former employees who knew how to get the job done. Many of the CEO's claims are starkly different from reality. Despite her assertions of building a high-performing organization, the company's performance lags far behind its peers. Sales and profits are consistently declining. While she speaks of fostering a diverse workforce, the C-suite remains predominantly white (white men and women are welcome to apply!). The narrative that leadership is trying to sell does not align with reality. The company culture has deteriorated since the arrival of newcomers from highly political companies where backstabbing and credit-taking are common practices, leading to low morale and a lack of motivation. Furthermore, it appears that leadership is more focused on promoting itself on social media with flashy pictures, questionable news (such as the delayed opening of the new HQ), and awards from obscure organizations. Hain feels like a shaky structure ready to collapse at any moment. Basic amenities taken for granted by many other companies are lacking at Hain. For instance, there is no unified global email system, and arranging meetings with employees from other regions is time-consuming due to the inability to view their calendar availability.
