Decent pay, maybe not the best in the industry, but the benefits make up for it. To advance, you need to move around. Mostly run like a big corporation, helps to know people, sometimes promises mature, sometimes not.
Cons
Some broken, promises. all and all no real cons. The company is a service industry, so if you work hard, they will keep you as long as possible. But when prices drop, they will get rid of anyone, no matter how long you have been there, or how well you do your job. All and all it is the cost of doing business. No hard feelings
Great Training, Excellent Opportunities to move laterally (extremely rare lateral movement).
Cons
Hard to move up within the company. During orientation, the trainers told us that an average term of a Halliburton employee was 6 months. I found out first hand. Employees left because mediocrity was promoted, nepotism is rampant and it is rare to move laterally within the company. Your supervisors will intentionally sabotage your promotion opportunities.
