Pros

Great system for raise/promotion. Good benefits package and very steady work for the time period I was there.

Cons

You're treated a bit like a number when you're new. However, if you learn to adhere to the Halliburton system, you can do very well for yourself.

Pros

Flexible schedule when not offshore. (15 days on, 6 days off). Great training at the Fort Worth training center.

Cons

Offshore life is a whole other lifestyle. Hazardous work (explosives, radiation, Helicopter rides to most offshore rigs). Work until the job is done, staying up 24 hours is normal. Management does not like Field Engineers in the field, so it's difficult to move up into office positions. Need to be on call for the 15 days, could go offshore at anytime.

Pros

Large corporation with diverse teams and multitude of business products. Great facilities with amenities for employees. Visible leadership that is consistently engaged with employees.

Cons

No work from home opportunities. Recent revaluation of job duties removed bonus potential for many middle managers, this is possibly changing in the future, but greatly impacted moral.
