Pros

Halliburton people are generally knowledgable and care about their fellow employees learning and doing a good job. There is pride that shows through in the performance of what people do. There is an independent spirit and the ability to offer opinion and be heard. Within certain feilds advancement is all you strive for, in other fields people never seem to move, but there are always oppurtunity to move across the business sectors within the company. If you want to have job satisfaction it is up to you to find the fit.

Cons

There is often a disconnect between the field and the managers: managers make agrements with customers that often put the employees in the field in a tough spot. People complain about their pay, but I think for the most part it is fair pay for the work you do. The benifits sometimes are carrot and stick, with one being cut while another slightly less valuable alternative is offered, in the current economy and with the focus on shareholder value it is important not to loose focus on the customer.

Pros

Job security especially in a volatile market. It's nice not wondering if you'll still have a job on Monday. The benefits are awesome and the pay is fair. Halliburton has the best training programs in the oil field and they give their employees ample opportunities to continue their training and expand their knowledge about oilfield services.

Cons

Long hours. The pay could be more competitive. Halliburton has a bad reputation from the media so many people look down on employees of big red. As with any oil field service company, our high times and low times are controlled by the market and sometimes we get blamed for high energy prices when in fact Halliburton has no control over the market.

Pros

If you can work a scheduled rotation the time off is not bad.

Cons

It seems as if nobody is held accountable for their actions except the people who work in the field. Support is almost non-existent. WAY TO TOP HEAVY. Have assistants for assistants & someone has to make the money to pay for their salaries. Too much of the good ole boy network, not if you can do the job but who you know. Years of service does not matter-your just a number.
