Horrible Pay & CEO

Pros

I enjoyed most of the people I worked with but the CEO.

Cons

Bill Shott was the most unprofessional CEO I have ever worked for. Most days he is yelling and cursing at everyone and that happens even when we're exceeding our goals. He continually changes the commission structure so you get paid less when you're exceeding your goals. I would never recommend working for this company, such a depressing, sad work environment and wasted time!!

Thank you for sharing! As you may or may not be aware, our Human Resources department has really come to light starting at the beginning of 2020 with a new HR Manager and HR Generalist. As we have been building a strong structured department where the sole purpose is to help build and enrich our culture, it has provided us the opportunity to really examine where Hammerton can improve. In 2020 and throughout this year, our focus has been on the main processes and procedures that were indeed missing in the employee lifecycle. For example, we switched to a streamlined and more efficient HRIS system, restructured and improved our health care benefits, developed a robust on-boarding and off-boarding process, examined our compensation philosophy, created more in-depth career paths for all of our employees, started a leadership training program, and focused heavily on the health and safety of our employees -- especially as the unforeseen pandemic hit. In reference to the COVID-19 pandemic, we communicated continuously through regular stand-up meetings and emails, we set up hand sanitizer stations and took daily temperature readings, displayed COVID safety signage throughout our facility, and created a large ‘COVID News’ bulletin board that was constantly updated. We also mandated masks for everyone who came on to our property. We still communicate updates as necessary. Although we have made some great strides to building an even better company, we recognize that we can always keep improving. This is where you can help! Below is a link that has been recently sent out to all of our previous employees. If you are willing, we would love to hear more from you! We appreciate all the feedback we can get as to help us evaluate if we are on the right track in our improvements. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CPKD9YW Sincerely, Stephanie Clausen HR Manager

Pros

I LOVE WORKING HERE. Love it. Hammerton promotes a culture of continually challenging yourself to innovate and do your best. If you are a passionate, goal-driven person, you will succeed here. Management works well together across departments to solve issues, and they are continually looking for ways to both take care of their employees and improve the company as a whole. Hammerton has given me innumerable opportunities to grow my career and skill set here at Hammerton. The CEO Bill Shott leads with a straightforward style and expects the best from every single employee. His door is open to everyone, and he has always taken my concerns and suggestions seriously. The employees here are fantastic to work with, and I have made many friendships that will last long past my time here at Hammerton. Every day brings new challenges, and I am never bored - I couldn't have found a better company to work for.

Cons

Hammerton's culture is focused on a very specific personality type - driven, ambitious, creative, and passionate. It builds a very intense team and work ethic, so if you don't have these personality traits I'd advise looking elsewhere. If you do, THIS IS A FANTASTIC COMPANY. You will be pushed to your limits and then some.
