Depending on the work-study assignment you receive will determine how much you like your job or not. Lucky for me I love my assignment - many students do not (which can be the reality of many students at various universities). Word of advice, if you can scope out departments you would not mind working within beforehand - do it! This is beneficial because you are aware of what you are walking into (faculty/staff, responsibilities, flexibility, etc.) and can request this department when assignments are being given.

Cons

The pay. The process of getting approved to receive work-study. Dealing with certain attitudes in offices over work-study in beginning stages. Some students are not reliable when assigned shifts.
