Pros

Really good devs and team. Can work on a lot of projects.

Cons

Stress level depends a lot on your manager. Had a really good manager and it was low-stress and a great culture. Under a different manager, it was more dramatic and we were told that we shouldn't be transparent with coworkers about performance reviews or salary.

Pros

Coworkers are typically the only reason folks stay here- trauma bonding!!

Cons

Talk to any sales rep here and you’ll figure out quickly why this org has some of the highest turnover you’ll see in tech. Reps here succeed because of constant layups and huge opps given to them simply because they “stand out in the room and lead like a used car salesman” as quoted by a senior leader. Quota is unattainable, talk to 90% of reps and you’ll find out that average quota attainment is 40% annually. Leadership has no accountability and they are all fearful to speak up, even though they all vent to their IC’s on how terrible a company Handshake is. Work here if you want to burn yourself out! Tenured reps have been leaving left and right due to the terrible favoritism and straight up awful leadership that guides them to zero success.

Pros

A handful of good folks still work here, but the number has been dwindling quickly over the last two years.

Cons

-Impulsive, emotional, verbally abusive CEO with no experience leading a company through downturns. Out of his depth. -The rest of the c-suite is weak and capitulate to every whim by the CEO. No accountability. -We have been dropping quality talent like flies over the last two years. The wrong folks have been laid off, and the good ones who remained have been leaving a steady clip. -Churn is awful; a revolving door of exceptionally poor Success VPs -No company needs Handshake. It's an ok-to-have. -Demands by Universities prevent any real, impactful changes that would make the product better. A huge hurdle to innovation -We introduced a feed, and it landed like a lead balloon. So much time, energy and hope wasted -I'd categorize the vibe as despair -Handshake will never IPO
