Pros

Decent colleagues up to L6

Cons

the executive team (except Christine) is extremely toxic and micromanaging; the directors are mostly brown-nosers; ICs are burned out or checked out

Pros

I really like how Handshake prioritizes their employees —their well-being, their work satisfactions, their personal growth, and their aspirations. The EU team is a diverse and fun team, we get together regularly for team-building events and social gatherings. Handshake's flexible work hours and remote work options have been a lifesaver, and having a dog-friendly office in Berlin is also a huge plus!

Cons

The time zone differences could slightly delay/interrupt communication, as we have a 6-10 hour difference depending on location.

Pros

THE PEOPLE! Can't stress that enough, the peers that I work with are amazing.

Cons

Not a fan of RTO - Handshake is a sinking ship and exec seem to think bringing people back in office is the solution, it's not. It's "only 3 times a week" but I'm willing to bet by 2024 it's going to be 5 days a week. By then, I hope the company will experience more burn and churn.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Like you, we think that our people are our best asset, and we know there is wide appreciation for the flexibility that working from home offers. While certain teams have been going into the office more regularly, others continue to operate in a distributed manner – it all depends on the function and the work. We know that in person work versus remote is a topic that inspires a lot of opinions, and both have their pros and cons.
