Stuck in the past. Beware: no link between performance and compensation (i.e. No raises....ever)
Pros
Work life balance is decent. Everyone is pretty fair and drama free. Not much vacation, but we do get 11 paid holidays which is excellent.
Cons
Beware: I've been here nearly two years and cannot believe I have not had a review. I thought that was strange but considering there are no raises (unless you are promoted), it makes sense. Someone in the NY office told me that there were no raises but I thought they were being sarcastic. They weren't....it's the truth. I have been in the industry for decades and this is the first company I have ever encountered that does not give annual raises or link performance to compensation. The company has had record profits for the past few years but the raises have been ZERO. Our CEO made $18 million last year, but handed out zero to the employees. Since there are no raises or reviews, there is an atmosphere of "institutionalized incompetence". If you are a superstar you get zero or if you are incompetent you get zero. Makes no difference so why try. There is no incentive to do well. There are lots of people who have been here forever (20, 30, 40 years) but seems like no one really cares about the job. I know it's the South, but I am used to much higher standards. The company is in a bit of a time warp. Systems and policies are 10-20 years behind the industry leaders.
