Toxic managers who are protected by higher management. Some teams would rather hire from outside the firm than promote from with in to cut down on training which leads to managers who do not know the process and can not train new fund accountant. Work is allocated unevenly, some teams get all the high profile projects and other teams get none while some teams are loaded up on funds while other teams get a manageable fund load. I spent many nights on until 8-9 noticing my team was the only team still online. Upper management does not want to hear anything negative, they just want their butt kissed and told how good they are. SVP will over work their teams so they can look good but very rearly give credit to the accountants who gave up their free time to get the work done. Work life balance is a joke The CEO thinks that just because he mentions it in every firm meeting that it’s real. Nothing is done from the top down to implement it and employees that do advocate for themselves for it are looked down upon and labeled unmotivated.
