Incredible Team and Vision

Pros

Opportunity to be a part of pioneering a new vision for a market space. Growing fast and the team is landing large, transformational deals. CEO, product and GTM leadership are tightly aligned on a transformative vision for the CI/CD space. Humble, supportive, and transparent culture. There are incredibly talented people here.

Cons

CI/CD is a competitive space and there is a lot of "vendor noise" so it takes time to break into initial engagements with clients. But when we get to the POV stage and they are able to see how the platform makes their lives easier everything everything clicks.

Best Career Move I've Made to Date

Pros

You have the ability to really hone your craft and leverage your previous experiences here at Harness, and truly provide value to the business, it's employees, and it's customers. At Harness you will be challenged and be allowed to grow professionally. If you're someone who has "lived this movie before" (working for a fast paced rocket ship of a software company), then this is also a place where the company will grow into your expertise! So it's a great place to take your craft to the next level, but it's also a place where you're learn on the job.

Cons

The pace of work, combined with the Pandemic requiring remote work only, creates an odd scenario where you haven't been able to really meet anyone in person yet. Sometimes that can stunt internal peer to peer growth and workflows. I will say, however, that due to the collaborative nature of the company culture, this works itself out pretty quickly.

Excellent leadership and growth trajectory

Pros

Harness is a high-growth workplace where people are valued and placed at the forefront of the success of the company. Initiative is recognized and internal mobility is generally encouraged. The leadership team is measured and highly data-driven, and transparency is demonstrated consistently at our bi-weekly all hands meetings. Benefits, especially new benefits introduced for work at home, are varied and excellent.

Cons

Rapid growth has led to teams being spread thin or having more to do than can be done within the workday. With a high emphasis on execution, employees can end up working more during off hours. Like other startups, with small teams there is less redundancy in roles, making it more difficult to take PTO. To alleviate this, we have a companywide day off every month to encourage mental health.
