Pros

I received a great introduction to the publishing industry, and learned essential editorial skills that I still use today even though I no longer work in book publishing.

Cons

Obviously, the salary was low. However, at that time, I was eligible for overtime and my boss was very liberal with it. Not sure if that is still the case.
