Overall HarperCollins is a positive work environment. Great books, and authors.

Internal feuds got in the way of a 5 star review.

Pros

Free books, and that's about it.

Cons

All of the problems at HarperCollins stem from one common misconception: that low-level employees are machines that exist only to answer phones and make appointments. Upper management is uniformly terrible. Internal promotion is nil. Communication between departments is horrendous, and not helped by the general culture of cattiness permitting the office. Seriously, my boss was cartoonishly bad. Don't work here.
