Pros

HarperCollins is an excellent publishing company to work for: salaries are competitive, work is varied, opportunities for advancement exist, remote work is possible, job descriptions are well delineated.

Cons

Unfortunately, management in one department, Editorial Services, is severely lacking. Policies are fluid, changing rapidly and uxexpectedly, often without explanation. Buy-in is expected, not earned. Failure to please management is not met with coaching or even reproach. Worse, it is met with ostracizing, retaliation, and vindictiveness. Would not recommend seeking employment in this particular department.
