A big company still trying to learn what it's like to be a business

Pros

Depending on your field, the pay can be quite good. They are also still hiring some niche people in the recession. In RTP, this is basically just IT folks though.

Cons

Really, a study in how not to do things. Every thing that they do wrong there has been studied in business schools for years, yet they refuse to pay attention. Pay attention to financial reports of the current and past companies and you should notice some shocking transactions that signal what the officers are really all about.

When I was there they started cutting back on work space cube sizes which impacts productivity.
