Honest, hard workers BEWARE! You will often be saddled with the lowest common denominator coworkers, who hardly pull their weight and are potentially outright toxic individuals.
Common sense would say that working cooperatively on a team would be more productive--common sense is correct: some days you will get the lucky shift with the equally proactive individual, who recognizes that tasks split evenly require just enough energy not to get bored, but are just simple enough to not be overwhelming to any one individual even during busy hours.
More often than not, however, due to your outstanding work ethic, you will be saddled with whoever has the worst work ethic. (As this job is usually in demand, the department would rather have someone who does next to nothing than an open spot and no one to fill it.) You will be stuck cleaning up all the messes AND serving all of the customers AND making all of the meal items for the next day, chiefly because someone is "busy doing" x or y simple task as slowly as they possibly can afford to. To combat this, you will be advised to be assertive about job tasks, by confronting this bad egg on a daily basis.
