Pros

Friendly coworkers, most customers are nice

Cons

Terrible management, the company cares more about money and work than employees’ well-being, the managers expect 40 hours a week so they don’t have to work on the floor and will cut you off at exactly 40 hours so they don’t have to pay overtime

Pros

This is a good first summer job for students who are in high school, or for those who are retired but are looking for some extra pay on the side. The only pro I can think of is that every 6 months we get a bonus check, other than that the other benefits we get is standard for corporate retail companies out there.

Cons

Atrocious, unprofessional management who do NOT know how to make schedules, play favourites with other employees, make employee write ups all personal, are incompetent with their jobs, and also do not know how to train new recruits for the jobs. Incredibly low pay, one of the lowest pay rate out there for grocery retail, and also was written up for asking for a raise. False job description. False public image and motto. Unequal opportunities for growth and pay unless your demographic information meets their quota. Unprofessional and rude high school part timers who do not get disciplined for their actions. Not a good place to work, very stressful and disorganized chaos overall.

Pros

The community in (most) stores is really great, very good 401k matching.

Cons

Management is extremely, extremely hit or miss, and one bad manager can ruin the entire work environment from the power that they have. Turnover rate is extremely high, near negating the fact that the community is good - this job forces nearly half-75 percent of people out in the first three months. The pay is awful, considering that Customer Service clerks are basically just managers without the title. Cashiers are overworked and over stressed. If you work as one, get ready for six hour shifts with only a fifteen minute break and absolutely zero time to relax or sit. Company seriously enforces a customer is always right policy - you have zero say, and you have to give the customers anything you want. Saying anything against it will get you verbally reprimanded each and every time - it doesn't matter if the customer was working against policy or not, you still have to say yes. This was the case at both locations worked at.
