Pros

• Friendly atmosphere and coworkers. || Granted, it's my first job, but I would never have imagined such a nice atmosphere. • Employee discounts and benefits. || Company gives out profit-sharing checks two times a year. Additional discounts off of groceries. Employee room occasionally has (about-to-expire) desserts and food. • Flexible hours. || I'm still in high school and take higher level classes and multiple extracurriculars. I have to request time off two weeks in advance and my schedule is always fluctuating but management always approves the time off I request. It's very nice. • Paid every week (based on hours from two weeks ago). It's nice that I don't have to wait until the beginning/end of the month.

Cons

• Understaffed. || Yesterday, when I worked, a couple of workers from different departments had to come up and help the front end with bagging. I take pride in my neat and space-effective bagging and lowered my standards for them but they did terribly--minus the fact that it's not even their job in the first place. Sometimes there are only two cashiers working and we can't bag quickly enough, especially when customers buy cart-full of groceries. There's always a lack of baggers or cashiers, and the whole store becomes stressed. • Feels like I've been cheated. || The requirement to get a meal break is 6.5 hours, however, the management sometimes schedules me for 6 hours. It annoys me that I'm so close to getting a meal as opposed to a break (15 min), but I don't. I also sometimes don't get breaks if I don't ask my managers more than once (read advice to management for more details). • Simply did not do' s. || During training, I should've received verbal training from management such as a tour of the store--but, I didn't. I haven't been to HT for a long time and it shouldn't be expected that I already know where everything is in the store... / I also did not get notified of the website to go on to look at my schedule and where to request time off. I had to learn from a friend who works there. / HT has a lot of weekends with special promotions and sometimes I only work once a week and am not up-to-date with them. I get confused and wish for a run down. / I have yet to receive my permanent name tag and it's been months. I still wear a tag with a sticker of my printed name stuck onto it.

Pros

Good company, Good pay, Good benefits. Good Perks.

Cons

Bad managers that expect you to let the customers be abusive to you. A write up for everything you do. They let the customers abuse us left to right. They work you like a slave.

Pros

As a part time associate you are entitled to store benefits such as employee freebies, that was always nice. And after a certain period of time you are eligible for some health benefits.

Cons

If you are injured outside of work or if their is a death in the immediate family the mgmt at the store I worked for was not supportive during my rehab or once I returned to work.
