I have been with this company for 4 years, going on 5, and have realized how difficult it really is to move up in this company. I have worked so hard at my job, worked extremely hard to get into customer service, trained people for customer service, put in long hours on the front end, asked several times to be shown things in accounting and to even become full time. I am told that because I do not have open availability I am not allowed to be full time, which is really strange because Harris Teeter will still work you right at full time hours. Then when they realize what you have averaged in hours, they will take all of your hours away.
I have now found a second job and have to keep Harris Teeter until I am able to find something to replace it. When I told the store manager about getting a second job his response was that I "should think about getting out of Harris Teeter all together anyways since my Husband works there too and we probably gripe about work all the time". Not to mention the comments that have been made about me "messing up his bonus check by $1,000's because of the hours that I am working" even though I am working my schedule. This is my 3rd store manager in this store and I have NEVER heard comments like this from any management.
