Pros

Leading research university, with many opportunities to learn and work with leaders in every field. Excellent benefits including subsidized or free classes at the extension school and elsewhere in the University. Especially useful in improving skills either for career or academic development. I loved working there and the people were always interesting to talk to and easy to work with.

Cons

Large organization, with sometimes cumbersome bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Pros

At Harvard, you will be surrounded by intellectuals who share similar goals. Competition is not in the culture but rather is more internal and personal because of the rigorous academic setting. The setting is motivating, not intimidating.

Cons

The compensation is very bureaucratic and takes a nearly unacceptable amount of time to issue reimbursement. It is a minimal but annoying con.
