Pros

Really good benefits (3-4 weeks vacation and 2 weeks sick time, health benefits, 11 paid holidays, paid Christmas break ,competitive salaries, education benefits, etc), Harvard tries to promote from within, at least in my department-room to get promoted or move to other departments, great people to work with

Cons

With Harvard relying on large endowment and the state of economy, fears about getting laid off

Pros

It is great to be able to go anywhere and have people recognize my university. Research community here is very vibrant and wide. People are very smart and nice.

Cons

Graduate salaries suck, though, but the future opportunity is very promising.
