Pros

Strong company that has been around for years. The product is top notch. Most of the people are very nice.

Cons

There was very little training, you tend to be overworked, they are behind when it comes to technology. IT dept. is very slow at getting things done, especially web development and keeping company software built by them updated. I found some people to be very nasty, prejudice even. Systems need to be upgraded so that not so much paper is used and so that many tasks can be performed quicker.

Pros

Havertys is a people-focused environment with emphasis on the customers. We had fun meetings and engaging contests to keep us continually learning and striving. Training was thorough and continuous. Store management held high standards of professionalism while allowing opportunities to have fun and build friendships. Upper management makes a sincere effort to help employees with individual goals and needs. Excellent company.

Cons

This is a retail environment with uncertain customer flow. The effectiveness of marketing techniques is questionable (TV ads, mail, emails). Some tension among coworkers at times due to competition between associates within the store. Prices are generally reasonable for the quality, but high for many customers' budgets.
